The 2016 Namibian Annual Music Awards has announced the esteemed Judging panel of the 2016 event. We have once again carefully selected the judging panel with a good mix of highly experienced and respected local and international Judges.

Mr. S.P Kambirongo better known as ( Lomo The Prince ) is a radio Presenter/ Producer at the NBC. Lomo has been a radio presenter for over 15 years. First started at Katutura Community Radio then Unam Radio, Radio Energy now currently at National Radio. Lomo is a professional MC and currently owns an events management company known as Lomo Productions & Entertainment cc. He has been in the entertainment industry since 1997.
FREDDY TAYLOR – know as the Prince of Soul
Freddy Taylor has risen to fame after winning the NBC Music Makers Award in the 1990s, after which he joined the Cantare Audire Choir on their European tour. in 1995, Taylor became the first Namibian artist to sign with an international recording company in Germany.
Freddy remixed ‘The Israelites’ from Desmond Dekker in Frankfurt. Taylor thereafter joined Mouvement Rapide, an acid-jazz band that grew popular in Germany and its neighbouring countries and later became the first acid-jazz band to perform at the Burghausen Jazz festival making him Namibia’s first artist to perform at this big annual event.
Lischen Khachas is a music producer,singer and a Dj.
Lischen Khachas is also a Radio personality and has been a part of the Namibian music industry for a little over 9 years.
She is regarded as one of Namibias Top female commercial Dj’s and has dj’d alongside South Africas Top female VJ’s the likes of Ms Cosmo from Channel O.
Lischen has also assisted and worked alongside a Grammy Award winning sound engineer and producer Allen Sanderson in 2013 during the recording of one of Namibias top Rock band Penilane.
Lischen has also released two house singles as a dj of which one made it an African Top 10 Charts.
She is currently managing a radio station in Otjiwarongo alongside being an entrepreneur.
You can’t fully relate the South African music story without mentioning one Oscar Mdlongwa, also affectionately known by his stage names Oskido, Oscar Warona, Godzilla or The Big O. Born in Oukasie, Brits, the producer, performer, radio presenter, record producer, and entrepreneur is a music legend in the true sense and racked in the who’s who of awards across the continent over a legendary career. His record label, Kalawa Jazmee Records has been at the forefront of youth culture and has produced top acts such as Bongo Maffin, Mafikizolo, Thebe, Alaska, Professor, Character, Black Motion, Boom Shaka, Zonke, Winnie Khumalo, DJ Zinhle, Magesh, and many more. Oskido was honored with a Special Recognition Award at the 9th Channel O Video Music Awards for his contribution in the development of South African music scene and at the SA Dance Music Awards on the same year. He has also helped establish the careers and record companies for Black Coffee and DJ Tira. It was through Oskido’s wisdom and sharing spirit that these top music names were nurtured to where they are now where they employ a myriad of people and signing up top acts to their stables – Soulistic Records and EzaseAfro respectively.
Jasmine Dotiwala, who studied at Roehampton University in the United Kingdom where she completed a BA Honours degree, is an award-winning trail blazer and key influencer who has gained international acclaim over a career most would just dream about. Jasmine’s worked with talent, moguls and celebrities across the board from breaking new, young talent, to working on groundbreaking and edgy TV programming featuring A-List celebrities including the likes of Eminem, Jay-Z, Destiny’s Child, Usher and Mariah Carey. Dotiwala also directed and produced the world famous MTV Cribs, where viewers were shown around the houses of celebrities including Dolce & Gabbana, Richard Branson and Craig David, along with Diary Of… episodes featuring Jay Z, Mariah Carey, Eminem and 50 Cent, and Making the Video which went behind the scenes at video shoots of Usher, Busta Rhymes, Sean Paul, P Diddy and Estelle.
